Hypertext: Float

January 1, 2008

Visions of Cuban and Haitian immigrants. Those not fortunate enough to have the money and resources to immigrate legally find a way to attempt to immigrate. Overwhelming is the spirit to come to America. Rafts from Cuba, makeshift floating devices from Haiti pepper the waters around Florida. Floating are these individuals, ready to risk everything for the prospect of coming to a new world. There refusal to not take “no” for an answer to their quest is admirable.

My refusal to take no as an answer to my ignorance is taking shape.  I shall find a way to travel, to learn,  to live. If I cannot fly, I will float.
