100 Words: Stretch

January 27, 2008

Empty mug that was filled with coffee only five and a half hours ago on the desk. Papers strewn about. Laptop turned off but the screen is still open.  It’s 7:19 AM. One minute separates your angelic, peaceful sleep from the the piercing BEEP BEEP BEEP that eminates from the little black devil’s box that we call an alarm clock.  It goes off. You slam the snooze button, but know that class is only forty minutes away and fitting teeth brushing, a shower and breakfast is going to be a challenge. You stretch. For air. For strength. For life today.
