100 Words: Airport

February 2, 2008

I’ve just taken a 10 hour flight. It seemed like a while ago since we left London Heathrow and years since we left Logan Airport in Boston. But I can see the house and street lights peppering New Delhi. They always say to wear layers in airplanes because they intentionally turn down the heat. I’ve been wearing a blue hoodie for the past 18 hours. But soon I will be standing in the humid, hot Indian summer. The plane comes to a halt at its gate. All that stands between the airconditioned cabin and the heat is Indira Gandhi Airport.
