100 Words: Punctuality

February 2, 2008

Punctation. Punc, as in punctuation. Punctuation brings and pause or end to something. A period or exclamation mark closes a thought. Perhaps it can be built up later, but in essence that sentence and that moment are being put to rest. Never to be visited again.  So punctuality could mean bringing any moment, not just in writing, to a rest. Coming early or even on time kills the openness of experience. What happens when everything happens according to plan, just as it was slated on the schedule? Punctuality– bringing perhaps a great story or a new experience to an end.
